Bertha R. Epright, 87, Stevens Point, died late Saturday
morning April 8, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Bertha was born June 14, 1929 in Stevens Point to the late
Anton F. and Veronica (Hintz) Hintz.

She attended St. Stanislaus Parochial grade school and
graduated from P. J. Jacobs High School.

Her marriage to Frederick W. Epright took place Feb. 11,
1950, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.

After their marriage, the couple settled in Stevens Point.
Her husband Frederick preceded her in death on May 1, 2005.

Bertha worked for Hardware Mutual for a number of years
before deciding to raise her family. She then worked for the University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point in food service for more than 20 years until her
retirement in 1994.

She enjoyed canning tomatoes and pickles, and loved to cook
huge meals for her family to share during the holidays, especially Christmas
when she would make her special pumpkin pies. She also would make her famous
banana bread to share with all of her family.

Her most precious time was spending time with her children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren especially up north. She was an avid
Wisconsin sports fan who loved watching the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee
Brewers and Wisconsin Badgers. She had a special love for birds and was quite
the Canasta player.

Bertha was a devout Catholic and prayed the rosary daily and
was a faithful member of St. Stephens Catholic Church.

A memorial in Bertha’s name will be established at a later
date.

Survivors include her children, Pam (Don) Flatoff, Stevens
Point, Pat Burm, Custer, Bill (Cathi) Epright, Stevens Point, and Karen (Mark)
Swenson, Plover; her loving grandchildren, Erik Helgemo, Jocelyn Barnwell,
Nicole Burm, Jacinda (Dan) Freres, Alyssa (Alex) Krueger, Nate (Lauren) Swenson
and Joel (Tami) Swenson; her six great-grandchildren Jadyn and Jazzelyn
Barnwell, Jameson Freres, Luke and Jack Swenson and Oliver Swenson; and one
sister-in-law, Marcella Monien.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick; three
sisters, Evelyn Rutta, Frances Stoffel and Angeline Leow; three brothers,
Joseph, Chester and Leo Hintz; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Hintz and Phyllis
Engebretson; and four brothers-in-law, Benedykt Rutta, Herbert Stoffel, Robert
Leow and Melvin Engebretson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April
12, at St. Stephens Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating.
Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the
Pisarski Funeral Home in Stevens Point, and from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at
St. Stephens Church until the time for mass. A parish rosary will be prayed at
7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lifeline, St.
Michael’s Hospital Emergency Room staff, and especially the wonderful third and
fourth floor doctors, nurses, chaplains and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for
their loving care given to our mother. You all made this difficult time a
little easier for us.
