Scouts collect 15,000 pounds of food donations

Scouts of the Mushkodany District of the Boy Scouts of America recently collected 15,000 pounds of food donations for its annual Scouting for Food drive. During the week of April 3-7, scouts distributed yellow plastic bags for residents to fill with items for donation. On Saturday, April 8, the scouts then collected the bags and sorted them in the Noel Hangar at the Stevens Point Municipal Airport. The donated goods will be distributed to the Salvation Army of Portage County, A Place of Peace Church, the Interfaith Food Pantry, Operation Bootstrap, the Emergency Food Assistance Program and the Mobil Pantry.
