Leonard L. Zoromski, 87, Stevens Point, died Sunday April 23, 2017, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Leonard was born Aug. 25, 1929, in Stevens Point. He was the son of the late Martin and Martha (Kranski) Zoromski.

He attended local schools. He entered U.S. Army April 19, 1951, in Milwaukee. He served in the army receiving the rank of corporal. Leonard served in Germany during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged April 8, 1953, at Fort Custer, Mich.

His marriage to Lorraine Shopinski took place Sept. 13, 1954, at St. Peter Catholic Church after the marriage the couple settle in Stevens Point. His wife Lorraine died Aug. 18, 1977.

Leonard worked at Preway in Wisconsin Rapids, Brach’s Candies in Chicago, Lullabye Furniture and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he retired in 1990.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching the Chicago Cubs.

Survivors include his daughters, Linda (Matthew) Sersch, Marshfield, and Julie (Dennis) Tlachac, Stevens Point; grandchildren, Jacob and Luke; and a brother, David (Karen) Zoromski, Stevens Point.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Benedict, Emil, Dominic and Frank; and sisters, Victoria, Grace and Stella.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church Stevens Point. Rev. Arul Joseph V. will officiate. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service in the St. Faustina room at church.
