SPASH Lacrosse Falls to Kimberly

The fast and furious game of lacrosse returned to the SPASH athletic fields Friday afternoon, with the Panthers dropping a 6-4 decision to Kimberly.
The loss drops the Panthers to 2-3 in the Bay Valley Conference.
Junior Midfielder Leo Knapp put the Panthers on the board at 10:51 of the first quarter. Kimberly found the back of the net twice in the period to lead 2-1. SPASH responded with their second goal of the period at 1:24 off the stick of freshman Cole Beilke.
The second quarter belonged to Kimberly with scores at the 11:40 and 2:40 marks. One more in the third and the fourth periods left SPASH down 6-2. The Panthers closed the gap in the fourth with a score by Bergh Diebl at 10:52 and Beilke’s second goal of the game at 1:04.
SPASH Goalie Jackson Trybull recorded 10 saves. Kimberly racked up eighteen penalty minutes and SPASH was whistled for twelve no-nos.
SPASH will travel to Green Bay Southwest on May 2 for a 5 PM contest before returning home for 5:30 PM games Thursday, May 4 against Wausau and Monday, May 8 versus Neenah.
