Hockey community turns out for Mosey-Leppen Classic

Hockey players with ties to the Stevens
Point area were in town for the Fifth Annual
Mosey-Leppen Classic at Ice Hawks Arena Thursday through Saturday April 27-29.
A total of 12 teams and close to 200 former Stevens Point youth
hockey, Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) and University of
Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) hockey players competed in the tournament, which
raises money to support youth hockey organizations in Stevens Point.
“Everything went really well,” said Kraig Brooks, one of the
creators and organizers of the event. “We have a lot of volunteers, some people
don’t have kids in hockey or never have been involved in hockey, and they’re
still out there cooking or helping clean up.
“It has become a pretty big community event,” he said. “And
it takes a community to run it.”
