Ramczyk chosen in First Round of NFL Draft

Stevens Point native
and University of Wisconsin
offensive tackle Ryan Ramczyk was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints Thursday, April 27.
The former Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH)
standout and transfer from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) was
chosen with the 32nd pick overall, as he became the first player from Stevens
Point to be taken in the first round of the NFL Draft.
“It was a very special feeling, and I’m very honored to be
able to play in the NFL and have this opportunity,” said Ramczyk in an interview with The Gazette. “Leading up into
the draft, there was definitely some nerves going on, and it’s kind of a weird
situation, because you don’t know who’s going to pick you and where you’re
going to picked.
“But it ended up working out,” he said.
