SPASH Tennis Wins Conference Dual

The SPASH boys tennis team defeated Wausau West 5-2 Thursday afternoon in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet at the SPASH courts.

The Panthers sit at 1-2 in conference play.

Jon Peck improved his record at No. 1 singles to 15-4 on the season with a 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 win over Luke Bailey. Patrick Hefferan and Garrek Wierzba teamed up at No. 1 doubles and took a 6-3, 6-1 win over Feuchi Yang and Luke Halvorsen.

The Panthers will host the SPASH Quad Saturday, May 6 at the SPASH courts. First serve is set for 10 AM.

Final: SPASH 5, Wausau West 2.

No. 1 — Jon Peck, SPASH, def. Luke Bailey, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5; No. 2 — Ben Brown, Wausau, def. Treyton Zinda, 6-3, 6-3; No. 3 — Tate Rauman, Wausau, def. Ryan Guay, 6-1, 6-1; No. 4 — Aidan McManus, SPASH, def. Will Brown, 6-1, 6-3;

Doubles
No. 1 — Patrick Hefferan-Garrek Wierzba, SPASH, def. Feuchi Yang-Luke Halvorsen, 6-3, 6-1; No. 2 — Angus Blakeman-Carter Smigaj, SPASH, def. Josh Patrick-Eddy Xiong, 6-1, 6-4; No. 3 — Eli Haas-Ryan Martin, SPASH, def. Nathan Evers-Wesley Spitzer, 6-0, 6-0.
