Bernice Marian Swendrzynski, 86, formerly of Rosholt, passed away May 7, 2017, in Tucson, Ariz., after living in Green Valley, Ariz., the last two years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church, 3315 Saint Adalberts Road, Rosholt, with Rev. Jeffrey Hennes of St. Adalbert’s Church officiating.

The family will serve a luncheon immediately following in the church basement. In lieu of flowers, make any donations to St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church.

Bernice was born in Rosholt to Peter and Anna (Dulak) Yenter March 29, 1931. She went to school at Rosholt.

She was united in marriage to Arthur Swendrzynski May 25, 1953, at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Rosholt. He preceded her in death March 10, 1999.

Bernice and Arthur began farming in Wild Rose after their marriage. In 1960, they purchased the grocery store in Rosholt. She worked hard helping Arthur operate the store while raising five children.

Bernice worked as an assistant at the Wisconsin Lions Camp of Rosholt for several years. Her self-taught talents were many, including sewing, cooking, quilting, refinishing and even reupholstering furniture! She was happy to share these skills with her friends and family, much to their delight. By far, her children meant the most to her.

In her later years, she moved to be near them, living in Waupaca, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Richmond, Va., and Green Valley, Ariz. Her kindness and generosity were felt by all who knew her. Being strong in her faith, she was an excellent role model.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Sheryl and Cynthia; sisters, Eleanor Trzebiatowski, Evelyn Augustinak and Gladys Ziolkowski; brothers, Lawrence Yenter, Leonard Yenter, Gerald Yenter and Raymond Yenter; and infant siblings, Ernest, Conrad and Mary Ann.

Bernice is survived by sons, Bob (Marie) Swendrzynski, Dan Swendrzynski, David (Laura) Swenzinski; brother, Richard (Lorraine) Yenter, Rosholt; sister, Lorraine (Ronald) Kedrowicz, Almond; grandchildren, Bradley (Jessica) Kaminski, Tera (Michael) Contezac, Marley and Omari Whitmore, Sonya and Michael Swenzinski, and Matthew (Erin) Swendrzynski and their children, Will, Ellie and Claire.
