Evelyn Ciesielski

Evelyn Ciesielski, 92, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Hospital on Friday, May 12, 2017.
A Mass of a Christian Burial for Evelyn was held at Wednesday, May 17, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Burial will be at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
Evelyn was born Aug. 30, 1924, in Stevens Point, the daughter of Felix and Verona (Laszewski) Kiedrowski.
Stevens Point is where Evelyn grew up and attended local schools. It is also where she met the love of her life, Barney Ciesielski.
Evelyn and Barney got married Nov. 25, 1942, by an Army Chaplin in Savannah, Ga. Evelyn worked for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point until her retirement in 1986.
Evelyn enjoyed polka music, church picnics and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Richard) Kinney, Nekoosa; her son, Dave (Connie) Ciesielski, Stevens Point; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Theodore and Dominic Kiedrowski; four sisters, Rosa Kiedrowski, Regina Campbell, Genevieve Sarver and Mary Keen; daughter, Mary; and grandson, David Ciesielski Jr.
Evelyn’s family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Dean Hagness, Mary (Sis) and the rest of the staff for their many years of dedicated care. Also to Home Health registered nurse Robbi Tracy for her compassionate care this past year. St. Michael’s Hospital Chaplain for visits and prayers. The staff of the emergency room, ICU and the fifth floor for all their efforts in mom’s care and Wellington Place of Whiting which was her home since January.
