Almond-Bancroft goes 18-0 to win second consecutive CWC-10 Title

After winning their first Conference Title in 30 years last
season, the Almond-Bancroft
High School baseball team
won its second consecutive Central Wisconsin Conference-10 (CWC-10) Title this
season.
The Eagles brought back all but three starters from last
year’s team that finished 19-4, and went 18-0 in the CWC-10 this season to
enter the WIAA Division 4 Playoffs with a 20-2 record.
Ranked sixth in Division
Coaches Association Poll, Almond received the top seed in its Regional and an
opening-round bye, and is set to open the postseason at home in a Regional
Semifinal at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 30.
“It’s been great,” said Almond-Bancroft baseball head coach
Rod Turzinski. “Our pitching’s been strong, we’ve had to manage it a little bit
with the pitch count, but we’ve got four guys up and down the lineup that can
throw.
“They’ve fought back four or five games where we’ve been
down and have come back and won,” he said. “The team’s been very, very, very
good, attitude-wise.”
