Michael W. Slowinski

Michael W. Slowinski, 83, of Stevens Point, died unexpectedly Monday, May 29, at his home.
Michael was born Sept. 28, 1933, in Plover. He was the son of the late Walter and Victoria (Nicklewicz).
He attended local schools graduating from P.J. Jacobs in 1951.
His marriage to Margaret Daczyk took place Aug. 8, 1953, at St. Peter Catholic Church. His wife preceded him in death Oct. 25, 2006.
Michael worked as a plasterer in Milwaukee before working at Copps Corporation where he retired.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1170. Michael was an active member at St. Stephen Parish where he served as an usher for many years. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden where he shared his produce with neighbors and family.
Survivors include his daughters, Nancy Slowinski, New Mexico, and Dawn (Gary) Hoppa and Beverly (Ronald Studinski) Willson, both of Stevens Point; sons, Michael John Patrick (Jan), Junction City, and Jeffrey (special friend Laura), Stevens Point; special friend, Mary Martin, Junction City; grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Eric, John, Nicole, Jason, Heidi, James and Catherine; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Tony (Evelyn), Stevens Point, and John (Pat), Plover; and a sister, Mary (Carl) Schulfer, Stevens Point.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Alois, and an infant sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 2, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiated. Burial followed in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.
