Anne Duecker, 99, Plover, died Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Maple Ridge of Plover while under the care of Heartland Hospice.

Anne was born July 20, 1917, to the late Paul and Susan (Sikorova) Bocek in Ladysmith. She grew up in the Maple Hill area and attended the local schools.

She was inducted into the U.S. Army during WWII. Among her postings was the Pentagon, where she specialized in coding. Anne was proud of her service and was honorably discharged in 1945.

Anne settled in Chicago, Ill., where she met her future husband. She married Lawrence Duecker June 7, 1957, and dedicated her life to family.

After Lawrence retired and they settled in Chippewa Falls. Lawrence preceded her in death on May 17, 1984.

In 2001, Anne relocated to Plover to be closer to her son.

Anne will be remembered for her soft-spoken and loving nature. In her earlier years, she often volunteered for the American Cancer Society. She loved to shop and cook. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and cultivating vegetables.

Survivors include her son, Wayne (Mary) Duecker; brother, Paul (Bonnie) Bocek; and beloved nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; a brother, Adam Bocek; and a sister, Mary Lee.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at Boston Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Ficken presiding. Visitation will precede from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Ladysmith.
