Betty L. (Warren) Johnson, 85, formerly of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Lyngblomsten Memory Care Center in Saint Paul, Minn.

Betty was born Aug. 4, 1931, in Coloma to the late James A. and Dorothy G. (Thurber) Warren. She was the eldest of two children.

Betty graduated from Westfield High School and Oshkosh Business College.

After graduating from college, she was employed by Hardware Mutual Insurance (Sentry) as a secretary where she met Neal E. Johnson who was working as an underwriter.

Betty married Neal Dec. 27, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stevens Point. She took time away from her career to raise five children and later returned as a secretary in the mortgage and loan department at First National Bank in Stevens Point.

Betty will be deeply missed by her sons, Jim (Judy), Saint Paul, Minn., Bill (Roger), Boynton Beach, Fla., and Fred (Rafael) of Irving, Texas; daughters, Mary, Fridley, Minn., and Jean (Annie), Cocoa, Fla.; grandson, Jacob, Saint Paul, Minn.; sister-in-law, Patricia Warren, Wautoma; a brother-in-law, Robert (Anne) Johnson, Ridgefield, Conn.; and three nieces and four nephews.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Neal; brother, Robert; and step-mother, Myrtle (Nelson) Warren.

A Service of Remembrance, celebrating Betty’s life, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 9, at the Boston Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Coloma.
