Pacelli beats Shiocton to advance to State Championship

After losing a pair of
games to Shiocton during the regular season, the Pacelli Catholic High School
softball team beat its Central Wisconsin Conference-8 (CWC-8) rival Friday,
June 9, to earn a trip to the WIAA Division 4 State Championship Game.
With the game deadlocked
at 0-
the top of the sixth inning, the ninth-ranked Cardinals (20-8) rallied for
three runs to take a 3-0 lead, while senior pitcher Brook Nagorski worked her
way out of danger in the bottom of the seventh inning to close out a four-hit
shutout and a 3-0 win in the WIAA Division 4 State Semifinals at Goodman
Diamond in Madison.
“I’m so excited,” said
Nagorski after the win. “It was just my dream to go to state, and now we’re
going to Championship Saturday, so it’s a dream come true.”
