Photo of the Day: Just Like the Old Days…

Anna Hagen, 10, and her 8-year-old brother, John, leave the Park Ridge Village Hall on June 15 carrying several gallons of drinking water back to their home a block away.
Many of the village’s 490 residents were still without power on Thursday — and for most, that meant no water.
“We still have a lot of people with wells, so we haven’t had water for a few days now,” said Fire Chief Brian Lepper. “So without electricity, they’ve had no water.”
Village residents have been coming to the village hall building, 24 Crestwood Dr., for drinking water, to use bathroom facilities and for electricity.
“We even had one gentleman come here to plug his saw in so he could cut boards,” Lepper said. “We haven’t had power for about three days.”
A little over 700 customers are without power through the area, according to Wisconsin Public Service, following Monday’s severe thunderstorm.
