Alois J. “Lloyde” Iwanski, 81, Stevens Point, died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday June 21, 2017.

Alois was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Amherst. He was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Trzebiatowski) Iwanski.

He attended local schools in Amherst.

His marriage to Gertrude Jankowski took place Aug. 2, 1958, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. His wife Gertrude died July 25, 2007.

His marriage to Janet Moscinski took place Oct. 17, 2009, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Junction City.

In his early years, Lloyde worked at Fischers Dairy in Stevens Point. He moved to Milwaukee and worked at Harnischfeger. He moved back to the area where he farmed.

After farming he operated a Standard Oil fuel delivery route and also delivered concrete for Mengel Ready Mix.

Lloyde retired in 1992 as a bus driver for the Stevens Point Area School District.

Lloyde was a very kind, loving and patient man who was willing to help others in any way possible. He was talented in many ways and was able to fix almost any piece of equipment, and was very creative and had the ability to solve almost any problem.

He was a devout Catholic and followed all of its teachings. Lloyde was extremely proud of all his grandchildren and very involved in their early years and upbringing. Lloyde loved to stay active and could be found outside in his yard and prided himself in keeping it in top shape.

Many Sunday afternoons he could be found dancing to polka at church picnics during the summer months and at other venues that offered polka music during the year.

For six years, he and Jan were members of the Choraleers, a group that sang for Masses with polka music. Lloyde loved his family and step family and thoroughly enjoyed them all.

Lloyde loved making people laugh and enjoyed being a prankster. He and “Gertie” spent many winters in Arizona and most recently with Jan. Lloyde will be deeply missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Janet; daughters, Sharon (Roger) Patoka and Sandra Filtz; grandchildren, Kyle (Lori) and Kolin Patoka and April, Chad, Brooke and Danielle Filtz; step-children, Dawn (Steve) Pacholik, Deanne (Tom) Kuenzi, Kevan Kitowski, Keith (Sharon) Kitowski, Denise Lewis, Kris Kitowski, Ken (Sherry) Varga and Kory (Nicole) Kitowski; step-grandchildren, Kyera and Brandon Lewis, Philip and Elizabeth Kuenzi, Rose and Pearl Varga, and Jacob and Michael Kitowski; step-great-grandson, Leland; brothers and sisters, Rita, Frank, Lucille, Maynard; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, at St. Joseph Catholic Church Stevens Point with the Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Memorials in Lloyde’s name will be established at a later date. Pisarski Funeral Homes are honored to be serving the family. For online condolences, visit www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.
