VFW to Hold Special Event for Vets Who Served in the Middle East

The Plover VFW is holding a special event for veterans from conflicts in the Middle East.
A “Sandbox Celebration” is being held to recognize veterans from Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan and other parts of the Middle East.
Plover Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10262, 2970 Hickory Dr., is hosting the celebration on Saturday, July 8. Activities begin at 3 PM with opening ceremonies by the VFW Rifle Squad.
Music, food, and games for children and adults will be held through 7 PM.
Activities will be outdoors, weather permitting, so attendees and families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
A menu of hamburgers, brats, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and ice cream will be served. All are invited to attend free of charge.
