Wanda E. Domaszek

Wanda E. (Karch) Domaszek, 87, Amherst Junction, died Thursday, July 20, 2017, with her children at her side, while under the care of Ministry Home Care and Hospice at Brookdale Senior Living Center.
She was born Feb. 20, 1930, in the town of New Hope, the youngest of 11 children to the late Michael and Frances (Wysocki) Karch.
She was born and lived for 80 years on the family farm. She attended Malloy School in the town of New Hope.
She was married to Eugene R. Domaszek on Sept. 30, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. They were married for 61 years. Following their marriage, they farmed for 45 years together on the Karch family homestead. In addition to farming, she work for Stanislawski’s Potato Farms for a couple of years. After retiring from farming, she worked for 10 years at Walmart, retiring in 2002 to care for her husband.
Domaszek was a 65-year member of the Rosary Society and life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. She prayed the rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy often.
She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening especially her strawberries, working with the farm animals, and visiting family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include children, Gerald “Gary,” Wrightstown, Patrick (Sue), Amherst Junction, Louise (Arlen) Denk, Rockton, Ill., Alan (Kay), Stevens Point, and Carol (Mark) Busse, Amherst Junction; nine grandchildren, Rachel Domaszek (Dan Scardina) Minneapolis, Minn., Andrew Domaszek, Lafayette, Ind., Mark (Heather) Domaszek, Madison, Amanda (Juan) Urrea, Brookfield, Kayla Domaszek, Madison, Rachel Denk, Machesney Park, Ill., Michael Denk, Minot, N.D., Laura Denk (fiancé Andrew Voigtlander), Roscoe, Ill., Krista Domaszek, Stevens Point; seven great-grandchildren, Jacinta, Jacob, Julia and Jasmine Urrea, Estelle and Corinne Scardina, Charlotte Domaszek; brother-in-law Robert (Bernie) Domaszek, Stevens Point; and sisters-in-law, Mildred Karch and Irene Karch, both of Stevens Point.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Andrew, Edward, Michael, Henry, Daniel and Raymond; sisters, Matilda Zaborowski, Agnes Rose, Helen Schultz and Alice Kizewski; and daughter-in-law, Chong Suk Domaszek.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, July 24, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Birungi officiated. Visitation took place prior to services Monday at the church.
