Maria Dr. Intersection to Close for Reconstruction Project

City Times Staff
Maria Dr. will close at Prentice St. starting on Monday.
The closure is part of the Prentice St. rebuild between Maria and Centerpoint drives, which was announced last fall. It’s a necessary move to not only rebuild the roadway surface, but also to replace the underground utilities.
Former Director of Public Works Scott Schatschneider referred to Prentice St. as “one of the worst” roadways in the city, and he estimated it was last resurfaced sometime in the 1960s.
The intersection will close on July 24 for about three weeks, weather pending, and should reopen about Aug. 14. A detour route will be marked.
