Lorraine Studinski, 83

Lorraine Studinski, age 83, of Stevens Point passed away Tuesday July 25, 2017 at her residence. She was born Dec. 8, 1933 in Stevens Point, WI.
She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Hintz) Koback. She attended St. Peter’s Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph Academy. Her marriage to Ralph Studinski took place on June 30, 1951 at St. Peter Catholic Church, he survives. She was employed at Nigbor Furs, Spurgeons and J.C. Penney.
Lorraine was very active in St. Peter Parish and in her community. She is a member of St. Peter Rosary Society since 1960 and Directress of Rose 9 since 1968. She was the president of the rosary society for 2 terms and spearheaded the Rosary Society cook book; president of the Stevens Point chapter of the Catholic Woman’s Club for two terms; president and organization chair for the Stevens Point Deanery 1984-1989; received the “Woman of Light” award in 2010 from the Stevens Point Deanery Council of Catholic Women; served on Confraternity of Christian Doctrine board from 1968-1970; and served as recording secretary of the Parish Council in 1970.
She received a certificate of recognition from Bishop John Paul for 20 years of service in the Parish Catechetical program, culminating in the position of Director of Religious Education, retiring in 1995.
During the pastorate of Rev. Chester Mozarny became Minister of the Word and Holy Eucharist, conducting Eucharistic prayer services at the Briggs St. High Rise, Portage County Home and St. Peter Parish. She was coordinator of the Ministry to the Homebound and the Senior Gathering Program for 15 years, served as parish liaison to interfaith caregivers of Portage County and secretary of RSVP from 1985-1987 and was a volunteer at the Holly Shoppe.
Lorraine enjoyed family celebrations, cooking, gardening, volunteering, dancing, playing cards, seniorobics, photography, concertina music, traveling and was an excellent seamstress.
She is survived by her husband Ralph, one son: Larry (Phyllis) Studinski of Denton, TX. Three daughters: Karen (Ken) Pawlak of Plover, Debra Glodowski of Anchorage, AK and Jan Elmhorst of Stevens Point. 9 Grandchildren: Jeffrey (PinNa) Marshall, Matthew (Megan) and Ian (Ashley) Studinski, Samantha (James) Mathweg & Danielle Glodowski, Alex Perue, Rhonda Elmhorst, Jacki (Scott) Kawlewski & Nicole Elmhorst; 13 great-grandchildren: Maximus, Atlas, Alexis, Nicholas, Caitlyn, Tori, Johnathan, Lucas, Shonace, Shyell, John, Samiya, Brooklynn, Jaydnn and Liliana; one brother: Steven Koback.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Robert, Harry, Ervin & Donald Koback; three sisters: Theresa Gawlik, Mona Flaig & Lucille Konopacki; and four infants: Kenneth, Michael, Brian and MaryAnn.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM on Monday July 31, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will take place in the Guardian Angel Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 PM, concluding with the St. Peter Rosary Society praying a rosary at 7 PM at the Pisarski Funeral Home, 703 Second St. in Stevens Point and from 9:30 AM until the time of services Monday morning in the St. Faustina Room at St. Peter Church.
