Fiternal CrossFit will host hero workout for law enforcement

Fiternal CrossFit of Stevens Point will host a community-wide workout for law enforcement, to honor their courage, hard work and sacrifice, with a special tribute paid to police detective Jason Weiland.

The “Fiternally Grateful” workout will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Fiternal CrossFit, 19 Park Ridge Drive in Stevens Point, across from Walgreens.

There is no cost to participate, but donations for a memorial fund will be accepted and T-shirts will be available for purchase. All are welcome and any fitness level can participate.

“Those who protect and serve our community make the biggest difference in the place we call home,” said Fiternal CrossFit owner James Jernberg. “Because of them our neighborhoods are protected, our streets are safe, and our community is preserved.”

Hero workouts are created to honor those who have fallen in the line of duty. This workout will be dedicated to Everest Metro detective Weiland, who died while on duty in Weston March 22, 2017.

“We are honored to host our second annual Fiternally Grateful Hero WOD to pay tribute to all Law Enforcement, but especially to remember detective Weiland,” said Jernberg. “A loss like that really rocks the community, and we want to make sure he continues to be remembered and celebrated.”

Fiternal CrossFit is an official affiliate of CrossFit, a fitness regime of constantly varied functional movements, which reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more.

Its vision is to inspire overall wellness through specialized instruction and demonstration of every day functional movements.
