Chester Zurawski

Chester “Butch” Zurawski, 75, Monroe, Wash., a former Stevens Point and Iola resident, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, after a brief battle with cancer.
Mr. Zurawski was born in Louisiana to Chester Raymond and Virginia Clayton Zurawski Nov. 14, 1941. He grew up in Stevens Point, graduating from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1960.
He served in the U.S. Air Force before settling on a farm in Iola. Next, he moved to Mattoon, Ill., where he spent many years working at Eastern Illinois University. In later years, he moved to Monroe, Wash., to be closer to his son, Nicholas.
Mr. Zurawski is survived by his son, Nicholas (Andrea), Lynnwood, Wash.; one sister, Barbara Jean (Warren) Fabel, Wausau; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Virginia; and one sister, Margaret Konkle.
