FEMA awards grant for six CPR automatic devices

The Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) has awarded the city of Stevens Point a $98,400 grant for automatic CPR devices.
U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D-La Crosse, and members of the Stevens Point Fire Department announced the grant Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the Stevens Point Fire Station No. 1, 1700 Franklin St.
Fire Chief Robert Finn said the grant enabled the Fire Department to purchase six additional mechanical CPR devices known as the Lucas Device to perform CPR on sudden cardiac arrest victims.
