August 10
Fraud: A 20-year-old woman called police at 12:10 AM to report a possible Facebook scam. The caller was given identity theft information.
OWI: Police arrested a 27-year-old McHenry, Ill., man for OWI after an initial stop for speeding on Stanley St. and Minnesota Ave. in Stevens Point at 1:36 AM.
Pot Possession: An 18-year-old Stevens Point man was arrested for possession of THC following a traffic stop on Vivian’s Ln. and Minnesota Ave. at 11:23 AM.
Brandy Bandit: Police were called at 2:11 PM by a Copps Market employee who reported an unknown suspect had taken a bottle of E&J Brandy from the store without paying.
August 11
What Else Could It Be: A 44-year-old man called police at 12:19 AM to report he was feeling sick after eating McDonald’s. He believed something was placed in his food.
Not Neighborly: A 31-year-old Stevens Point man was arrested for bail jumping, disorderly conduct and probation violation after police responded to an altercation between the suspect and his neighbor on the 500 block of Bliss Ave. at 12:28 AM.
Crash: Police cited a 22-year-old Green Bay man with failure to yield while making a left turn after a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 10 and Old Hwy. 18 at 8:34 AM.
Slow Down: Deputies stopped a 38-year-old Stevens Point man and cited him for speeding on Cty. Rd. J at 10:27 AM.
Hit-And-Run: An 18-year-old Stevens Point woman was the victim of a hit-and-run accident by an unknown suspect at 1:32 PM on the 1000 block of Clark St.
Doggone It: Police were called at 5:46 PM by a 44-year-old Stevens Point man who complained about a neighbor’s barking dog on the 500 block of Union St. The dog was removed by its owner and no further issues were reported.
Bail Jumper: A 34-year-old Stevens Point woman was arrested for felony bail jumping at 7 PM after making her day report at the Portage County Jail.
3rd OWI: Police arrested a 36-year-old Stevens Point man for his third OWI, operating with a prohibited alcohol level with a passenger under 16 years of age, possession of THC and possession of drug paraphernalia at 7:49 PM on the 1200 block of Black Bear Trail.
August 12
Warrant Arrest: A 22-year-old Stevens Point man was arrested on Main and Second St. at 12:04 AM due to an outstanding warrant.
OWI: A 24-year-old Omro man was arrested for OWI and speeding at 12:41 AM after deputies stopped him on the 8200 block of Kranski Lake Ln. in Rosholt.
One Too Many: Police escorted a 21-year-old Stevens Point man to his home on the 1400 block of Water St. after seeing him staggering up the street and falling in some bushes at 12:47 AM.
Urination Citation: A 23-year-old Stevens Point man was cited for public urination at 2:28 AM on Clark and Third St.
Strangulation: Deputies arrested a 50-year-old Waupaca man for disorderly conduct and strangulation and suffocation at 2:44 AM on the 10000 block of Hwy. 54 in Amherst.
Need New Friends: Police were called at 4:55 PM by a 38-year-old Stevens Point woman who reported her son’s friends had broken into her house on the 5200 block of Forest Circle S. and stolen some items.
Sibling Rivalry: A 56-year-old Stevens Point man called police at 10:41 to report his 51-year-old brother wasn’t paying his bills and making fun of him. The two were arguing over disrespect and will separate for the evening.
August 13
Attempted Theft: Police were called at 6:28 AM by a 53-year-old Germantown woman who reported an unknown suspect had attempted to break into her vehicle on the 1100 block of Washington Ave. in Stevens Point.
Slash: A 62-year-old Stevens Point man called police at 8 AM to report a tire of his truck was slashed by an unknown suspect parked on the 500 block of Meadow St.
Exposed: A 37-year-old Stevens Point man called police at 9:39 AM to report a 28-year-old man who was intentionally exposing himself on the 1600 block of Briggs St.
Hot Dog: A dog was found panting but not in distress in the vehicle of a 39-year-old Stevens Point woman on the 300 block of Division St. N. The woman reportedly brings the dog to work with her and leaves it in the car all day. The woman’s boss will speak to her about the issue.
Not-So-Noisy: Police responded to a noise complaint on the 1800 block of College Ave. at 11:50 PM. The responding officer reported the alleged noise could not be heard until he was several feet from the source. He determined the noise complaint was unfounded.
