The eighth annual Z Tourney was held Saturday, July 15, at Lakeside Bar in Stevens Point as a fundraiser for the Dan Zurawski Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Zurawski, who graduated from Pacelli and was attending University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, drowned in Rhinelander in 2009.

His family established the scholarship for graduating high school seniors in Portage County hoping to pursue a major in natural resources. To date, eight students have been awarded scholarships.

Winners of the tournament were Rick Gruber, carp; Andy Nechuta, big boat; Ross Nevinski, big boat; Eric Fix, walleye and largemouth bass; Joe Skibinski, smallmouth bass; Zachary Firkus, northern; Don Firkus, musky; and Bill Adams, blue gill and carp with bow. The date for the next Z Tourney is July 14, 2018.
