Donors, volunteers make blood drive successful

To the Editor:
The Plover/Whiting Blood Drive held on Aug. 7 was a great success, and we can point to many contributing factors.
We have many donors that come almost every time we hold a blood drive, but we are also glad to see newcomers. There is always a friendly group of volunteers and Red Cross staff working to make this a good experience.
After they give blood, donors are offered homemade food. Thanks to Members’ Advantage Credit Union for sponsoring the food for this drive and to Copps bakery for the treats. We’re very grateful to Divine Word Lutheran Church for allowing us to use their facilities.
Seventy-three pints of blood were collected, and we congratulate the following donors for achieving these milestones: Sandra Kratzke – one gallon; Trinity Noel – two gallons; Joseph Swiander – three gallons; Margaret Guth – five gallons; Christopher Doubek – 11 gallons; and Peggy Morgan – 23 gallons.
The next Plover/Whiting Blood Drive will be Oct. 9 at the Plover Municipal Building from 1 to 6 p.m.
