Delores M. Morford, 70, of Stevens Point, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2017, at St. Michael’s Hospital.

She was born on Dec. 19, 1946, in Stevens Point, to the late Chester and Eleanore (Guzman) Niemczyk. On Oct. 25, 1969, her marriage to Benjamin Morford took place at St. Peter Catholic Church.

Delores had been a bartender at Uncle Chet’s Friendly Bar, and later the Friendly Bar. She was past President of American Legion Auxiliary Post 6 and past President of the American Legion Auxiliary for Portage County, was a member of the Women of the Moose and St. Peter’s Rosary Society. She loved spending time with her family, playing bingo and cards.

Survivors include her sisters, Dorothy (Larry) Breitenstein of Mosinee, Diane (James) Wengelski of Mosinee, Delphine (Norb) Hintz of Stevens Point, Debra Jakubiak of Wisconsin Rapids, Denise (Jeff) Mullins of West Allis, and Donna Niemczyk of Custer; brothers, William Niemczyk of Berlin, Chester Niemczyk Jr. of Mosinee, and Frank (Tricia) Niemczyk of Asheville, North Carolina. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Darlene Niemczyk; nephew, Michael Orsburn; and great-nephew, Ricky Sankey.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. The Rev. Todd Mlsna will officiate. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be in the St. Faustina Room of the Church on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time for Mass. American Legion Auxiliary Ritual will begin at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the church, followed by a Women of the Moose Ritual and then the rosary will be prayed by the St. Peter’s Rosary Society.
