Shots from the eclipse Monday, Aug. 21. These pictures were taken in the village of Park Ridge between 1 p.m. and 1:36 p.m., as the moon was blocking out the sun.

In Portage County, reports indicated that viewers experienced a 75 to 80 percent eclipse. These pictures were taken from behind a welder’s helmet with a shield shade 10, which accounts for the green coloring.

More photos and eclipse coverage in the Aug. 25 edition of The Gazette.
