Duane M. Bohlman

Duane M. Bohlman, 73, Custer, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2017, at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau.
Better known as “Tubby,” he was born Jan. 14, 1944, in Wausau, son of the late Esther and Melvin Bohlman.
He was married to Darlene Aanonsen June 15, 1968, in Wittenberg. They lived in Stevens Point for a short time before moving out to the Polonia area, where they would reside until their deaths.
He entered the U.S. Army out of high school and later would graduate from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a bachelor’s degree in education. He went on to earn his master’s degree.
Mr. Bohlman worked at Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point for 30 years before retiring in 2001. He loved hunting, fishing, working on projects and spending time at the cottage with family and friends. He was known for helping people, enjoyed making breakfast and giving his grandsons treats.
Survivors include two sons, Mark (Tammy) Bohlman, Kronenwetter, and Michael (Mary) Bohlman, Stevens Point; four grandsons, Ethan, Keegan, Gabriel and Drew; and one brother, Jerry (Ilene) Bohlman, Clintonville.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Stevens Point. Pastor Steve Hulke officiated. Military Honors followed the service. Visitation was Monday at the Pisarski Funeral Home, Stevens Point, and Tuesday at the church. Burial was in Forest Home Cemetery in Wittenberg.
