Amherst rolls past Omro in season opener

The Amherst High School football team pulled away early in the second half to rout Omro in its season opener at home Friday, Aug. 18.
After Omro scored a touchdown late in the second quarter to pull within 14-6, the Falcons answered with a touchdown to go into halftime with a 21-6 lead.
Top-ranked Amherst opened the floodgates opened at the start of the third quarter, as it scored touchdowns on its first three possessions of the second half to roll to a 43-6 victory.
“It felt good,” said senior quarterback Marcus Glodowski. “We came out ready to go, right from the beginning, and we weren’t going to stop.”
