By Gene Kemmeter
The city of Stevens Point will install parking kiosks on city streets within and near the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) campus.
The Common Council amended the parking meter zones and control Monday, Aug. 21, to identify locations for the multi-space parking zones, which will be controlled by kiosks where drivers can pay for the use of parking spaces with either coins or through an application with their cellphones.
Those parking zones will be on the west side of Isadore Street between Maria Drive and Portage Street, the west side of Reserve Street between Maria Drive and Fourth Avenue, both sides of Illinois Avenue between Maria Drive and Fourth Avenue, both sides of Maria Drive between Isadore Street and Michigan Avenue, the east side of Fremont Street between Stanley Street and Main Street and the north side of Sims Avenue between Fremont Street and Illinois Avenue.
