Animal lovers can get their fix during the Labor Day weekend 91st annual Portage County 4H Fair Friday, Sept. 1, through Monday, Sept. 4, at the Rosholt Fairgrounds.

“It seemed like fairs were a dying thing eight to 10 years ago but with all of our blood, sweat and tears, this ground has become unbelievable – our fair is growing every year,” said Rosholt Fair Association vice president Todd Wierzba.“If it wasn’t for the great people in our community and surrounding areas we wouldn’t have such a great fair.”

Admission is $5 Friday, Saturday and Sunday, or $12 for a weekend pass. Fair entry is free Monday.

The demolition derby is an extra $8 for adults and $5 for children age six to 12; active military and children under 6 years old are free. Ride wristbands are $17 and are valid from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, from 1 to 5 p.m. and again 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and noon to 4 p.m. Monday. Fair parking is free.

To read the rest of the story, pick up a copy of the Portage County Gazette at one of the many newsstands in the area, including gas stations and grocery stores. Or subscribe at shopmmclocal.com/product/portage-county-gazette/ to have weekly copies delivered by mail.
