Pacelli Offense Rolls Over Manawa Wolves, 41-6

By Jacob Mathias
The Pacelli Cardinals varsity football team rolled over the Manawa Wolves Friday night with a lopsided 41-6 victory.
The Cardinals improve their record to 3-0 after defeating the Aquinas Blugolds at Goerke Field last week. The victory at Manawa is the Cardinals’ first in Central Wisconsin Conference play.
Leading on offense for the Cardinals was senior running back Daniel Mitch who rushed for 158 yards and scored one touchdown while junior quarterback Zach Zimmerman completed nine of thirteen passes for 153 yards and a TD. Junior running back Zander Schmitz ran for 65 yards and added two TDs to the Cardinals’ score.
Defensively, the Cardinals were just as effective as the offense, limiting the Wolves to only one TD and not until the fourth quarter. Senior defensive lineman AJ Firminhac was a force to be reckoned with as he racked up eight tackles, three QB sacks and a fumble recovery for the Cardinals.
Senior linebacker Isaac Pisarski chalked up another nine tackles for the cardinals and snagged an interception for a touchdown.
The Cardinals return to the field at 7 PM on Sept. 8 as they take on the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers (2-1) at Goerke Field.
