UPDATE: Charges Pending for Armed Robbery Suspect

Stevens Point police say a Milwaukee man is in custody after an attempted armed robbery on Sunday.
Timothy Butts, 32, is suspected with attempting to rob a guest staying at Knights Inn, 3421 Church St., on Sept. 3. According to a news release from Detective Sgt. Tony Babl, the incident was found to be drug-related, but no other details were immediately released.
Butts was located during a traffic stop in the Wausau area and is in custody on an unrelated warrant.
Police have filed a request for a charge of armed robbery against Butts. It was not immediately known when Butts would appear in Portage Co. Circuit Court.
