Three taps for Pointoberfest

By Rose Schneider
The annual festival and run at Point Brewery will showcase three new taps – but they might not be around for long.
And the Brewery isn’t giving any hints about what they might be.
“We will have three special tappings that will not be announced prior,” said Julie Birrenkott, director of marketing at the Stevens Point Brewery. “They are limited release, brand new and are not available to the public yet.”
Attendees to the sixth annual Pointoberfest will get the chance to sample the new refreshments as part of the event, which will take place at the Stevens Point Brewery, 2617 Water St., from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, after the completion of the fourth annual Pointoberfest Blubber Run 5K, which starts at 3 p.m.
The limited edition kegs will be tapped on the hour. Everyone will receive a specialty glass, souvenir mug to sample their beers, Birrenkott said.
Tickets for the event are $25 in advance and can be purchased online at pointbeer.com/tickets or in person at Stevens Point Brewery’s gift store, University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point ticket office and Trig’s Cellar 70, Stevens Point. They will be$30 at the gate.
