Park Ridge President pushes referendum

Village of Park Ridge Board President Tricia Baker continued to push the board to make a decision on advisory referendum language for the February 2018 primary while board members cautioned that other options have not been brought up through committee.

“What goes on it? What are our options? Should we put all four on? Do we want more?” she asked board members Monday, Sept. 18. “I will tell you a couple of things. This needs to move forward, and I’m going to be a pain about it.”

The village’s Comprehensive Planning Committee was charged months ago with assessing and reviewing long-range projects in the community including water issues, street repairs and sewer. The Fire Department was then added, despite more than 18 months’ work by previous board members to come up with four options for addressing space and equipment age issues in the department.

Baker once again queried each board member for thoughts on language and moving forward, asking member Randy Busch first.
