Stevens Point Horseshoe Club competes at state

The Stevens Point Horseshoe Club had 14 members compete in the 2017 Wisconsin State Horseshoe Tournament in Beloit Saturday, Sept. 2. Team members are, back row from left: Brian Hartman, Allison Birr, Mona Lane, Emily Lane, Bev Hans, Craig Hans, Ray Cayer, Jason Villwock, Veronica Groshek and James Wicklander. The newly formed Stevens Point Horseshoe Club had 14 members compete in the 95th Wisconsin State Horseshoe Tournament in Beloit Saturday, Sept. 2.

The team ended up with three first-place finishers, one second-place finisher, and one third-place finisher.

Earning first place in their respective classes were Dean Groshek, Fred Lane and Heather Sowatzke.

Trisha Pennoyer placed second, and Jedidiah Sowatzke was third.
