Students, staff and faculty, and alumni and friends have a week’s worth of Homecoming activities beginning Monday.

Daily activities at SPASH include dress up days -– Monday is Tie Dye Day, Tuesday is a Hawaiian theme, Wednesday is USA Patriotic Day, Thursday is Pink Day, and Friday is Red and Black/Spirit Day.

The Panther Pro Shop has lined up a number of daily specials on apparel and spirit wear. Store hours are 7 -8:30 AM, 10:30 AM through 1 PM and 2 PM until 3:30 PM.

Seniors, juniors and sophomores will spend Monday afternoon and evening decorating their respective class windows for an annual class competition. Faculty and staff will then vote on their favorite during the week and winning class will be announced Friday afternoon.

The annual Mr. SPASH competition highlights Wednesday, kicking off in the fieldhouse at 7 PM. Tickets will be sold Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in the South Office for $3.00 or at the door for $5.00.

”It is the one week in the school year where students, staff, administration, and alumni all get involved in activities as PantherNation unites,” said Mike Blair, SPASH activities director.

Float building will take place Wednesday and Thursday evenings in preparation for Friday’s Homecoming parade.

The parade begins 12:15 PM on Friday, led by the SPASH Marching Band. The route heads west on Prais St. from the front of Washington Elementary School, then south on Minnesota Ave. to Goerke Park, where the afternoon’s activities conclude with the pep fest.

Highlighting the pep fest will be performances by the Football Cheerleaders, and the Pom and Dance team as well as the junior vs. senior Powder Puff game. The Homecoming court and Queen, Mr. SPASH and Ma and Pa Homecoming will be introduced to the crowd as well as the Fall Athletics teams.

The SPASH volleyball team takes the court in the annual Diggin’ The Cause Pink Game Thursday night. A number of activities, including raffles and door prizes, are planned during the evening with proceeds going to benefit the Breast Care Fund at St. Michael’s Foundation. Action vs. Merrill begins at 4:30 PM, with the varsity taking the floor at 7:15 PM.

The Panther football team will take on Wisconsin Valley Conference foe D.C. Everest Friday night at Goerke Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 PM.

The semi-formal dance – “A Night at the Cinema” wraps up the week’s activities Saturday night at SPASH from 7:30 -11:30 PM.
