Carole M. Hansen, 81, Marshfield, a Stevens Point native who has relatives in Portage County, died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at Atrium Post-Acute Care, Marshfield.

She was born Aug. 2, 1936, to the late Hiram and Hazel (Case) Hansen in Stevens Point.

In her free time, she enjoyed stopping at garage sales, visiting with friends, and driving down country roads in search of wild asparagus. She also loved cooking, crocheting, testing her luck at the casino and listening to music, especially Elvis.

She is survived by her children, Allen (Sharon) Hansen, Custer, Keith “Clint” (Dawn) Hansen, Wisconsin Rapids, Charles (Bonnie) Hansen, Plover, Catherine (Jon) Sosnowski, Stevens Point, Mark (Carolynn) Hansen, Plover, Cassandra Ryckman, Plover, and Kim (Sean) Fisher, Florida; 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Florence Andersen, Wautoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Sherry and Deborah; one granddaughter, Rebecka; and two nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at Boston Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin Rapids immediately following the service.
