Fighting for a Cure, One T-shirt at a Time

Local firefighters have begun selling this year’s “Fighting for a Cure” t-shirt.
According to Stevens Point firefighter Jason Pettis, the shirt — modeled after a 1940s “We Can Do It!” poster — was designed by Jamie Jones, who works for the Stevens Point Area Public School District.
The fundraiser is operated by the charitable arm of the local firefighter’s association, the Stevens Point Fire Fighters Charitable Foundation, Inc.
Proceeds will benefit the new St. Michael’s Foundation Breast Cancer Center, Pettis said, which breaks ground next year.
T-shirts sized youth small through large and adult small through XL are $10; adult 2XL shirts are $13, and can be purchased at the Stevens Point Fire Dept., Station No. 1, 1701 Franklin Street.
“We’ve got a lot of t-shirts; people can come through the whole month down to the station,” Pettis said.
