A “Beats for Tasha” benefit event will take place this weekend in the hopes of raising funds to help Tasha Biadasz-Clark, a local woman who is hospitalized awaiting a heart transplant.

The event will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Rookie’s Sports Pub, 3425 Church St., Stevens Point. Activities include basket raffles, 50/50 raffles, bake sale, large raffle, T-shirts, wristbands and can cozies. Food also is available on site.

Members from her Thursday night pool team will be hosting a Singles Pool Tournament, which will be double elimination. Biadasz-Clark, an Almond resident, was born with congenital heart disease, which indicated a three-chambered heart, a splinter, a leaky valve and other anomalies. As life has gone on, her condition has worsened.

Just over a year ago, she was diagnosed as being in full heart failure. A follow-up doctor’s appointment in the fall of 2016 indicated severe water retention around her heart, kidneys and liver.

After multiple check-ups, doctors have determined the only way to keep her heart operating is to have her hospitalized with intravenous medication. Since being hospitalized, Biadasz-Clark began testing for transplant eligibility, which was granted May 29, 2017.

She currently is at Mayo Clinic and is on the waiting list for a heart transplant.
