‘Perspectives on Breast Cancer’ Next in Mid-State Speaker Series

For the City Times
Those fighting breast cancer, or close to someone who is, will have an opportunity to gather valuable information from Mid-State Technical College experts at the college’s upcoming Speaker Series presentation, “Perspectives on Breast Cancer.”
The presentation takes place Thursday, Oct. 19, at 6 PM at the Stevens Point campus.
The session will explore two sides of the cancer experience. Mid-State nursing instructors will present the medical side and share information on the effects of cancer, chemotherapy, and other breast cancer treatments and how cancer patients and their supporters can cope with the challenges.
Cosmetology instructors will also share valuable insights and resources pertaining to body image, including approaches for overcoming chemotherapy’s impacts on the skin and hair.
The session is part of an ongoing series bringing Mid-State’s expertise on topics currently relevant to the community.
No registration is required and the presentation is free and open to the public.
