Deflecting Much: Police report that at 1:48 AM an intoxicated 30-year-old Stevens Point man called them and advised them that “everyone leaving the Final Score bar will be drunk”. Officers report the bar’s parking lot was clear and no violations were observed.
Cheap Rent: Police responded to the 300 block of Second St. N at 8:42 AM where an individual was reportedly sleeping in a storage unit. A 23-year-old Stevens Point man and 20-year-old woman were both arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping.
Close Shave: A 47-year-old Stevens Point man was arrested for theft after attempting to steal an electric razor and sweatshirt from the downtown Shopko store at 11:15 AM.
Cowllateral Damage: A 63-year-old Rudolph man called deputies at 12:53 pm to report a dead steer. He said it appeared a neighbor had accidentally shot it while target practicing.
Close Call: Police warned a 66-year-old Plover woman for unsafe lane deviation after she reportedly almost hit the vehicle of 45-year-old Stevens Point man on Main and Phillips St. at 7:58 PM.
Crash: A 21-year-old Stevens Point woman was cited for making an improper right turn after crashing with the vehicle of a 25-year-old Neenah man on Clark and Chase St. at 9:58 PM.
Crash: A 50-year-old Stevens Point man was cited for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign resulting in bodily harm after crashing with a 56-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man on Hwy. 54 and Meehan Dr. at 11:04 PM.
Throwing Elbows: Police responded to a disturbance between two 21-year-old Stevens Point man at the Elbow Room bar at 11:23 PM.
October 7
Cart Caper: Police arrested two men, 19 and 20 years old, after they stole a shopping cart and storm grate from the downtown Shopko store at 1:44 AM. The two attempted to flee the officers but were both found. Both were arrested for theft and underage drinking. The older of the two was also charged with resisting or obstructing an officer.
Was It Folded: A 38-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man reported to police that his ex-girlfriend would not return his basket of laundry. Police report it was eventually returned.
Threats: Police were called at 10:56 AM by a 34-year-old Stevens Point woman who reported a 28-year-old Babcock woman had threatened her with a knife concealed in a purse. The suspect left from the 200 block of West Clark St. in a white car in an unknown direction.
Crash: A 17-year-old Stevens Point man was cited for following an automobile to closely after crashing with a 68-year-old Plover man in the Rookies Sports Pub parking lot at 1:01 PM.
Tattoo Troubles: A 35-year-old Plover woman called deputies at 1:14 PM to report a 28-year-old Plover man who was threatening to break into her residence on the 5900 block of Birch Dr. to retrieve his tattoo equipment. No citations were issued.
School Stoning: Unknown children were reportedly throwing rocks at Mckinley Elementary School at 9:09 PM according to a 37-year-old Plover woman who reported the incident.
October 8
OWI: A 27-year-old Stevens Point man was charged with OWI and speeding after crashing his vehicle on North Point Dr. and Division St. at 1:17 AM.
Swervy Sweets: A 57-year-old Stevens Point man called police at 3:05 PM to report a retail ice cream truck was speeding and weaving in the road on Hwy. 66 and West River Dr. Police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
Sign o’ the Times: An unknown suspect stole and Ellis Stone yard sign from a home on Division and Briggs St. at 7:34 PM according to a 33-year-old Stevens Point man. Suspect was not located.
