SPASH Volleyball Downs West

The SPASH Volleyball team took second place in the Wisconsin Valley Conference on Wednessday, defeating Wausau West 3-1 on senior night at the field house.
West and SPASH came into the contest with 8-3 records in the conference, two games behind first place Merrill.
The Panthers took the opening set 25-20 and set two 25-21. SPASH held a 21-17 lead in set three but the Warriors were up to the task and battled back for a 25-27 win. SPASH won set four 25-23 to round out the evening.
The match marked the final regular season appearance on the home floor for seniors Rachel Sullivan, Lexi Ford and Ally Miklesh.
Junior outside hitter Kayla Lass recorded 20 kills and 28 digs on the evening. Senior setter Ally Miklesh rang up 34 set assists and Rachel Sullivan finished the evening with 7 block assists.
The Panthers will hosts Wausau East at the SPASH Fieldhouse Thursday, Oct. 19 in a WIAA Regional semi-final contest. First serve is set for 7 PM.
