Susan J. Low, 70, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at the Portage County Health Care Center, Stevens Point.

Susan was born March 28, 1947, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late John W. and Lois F. (Nee: Wargin) Low.

The family moved to Stevens Point, and she attended the local schools, graduating from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1965.

She attended Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill. While at Wesleyan, she graduated with honors with degrees in Political Science and History. In addition, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and became president of the chapter in her senior year.

She began working in La Crosse, where she taught school, became a real estate property manager, and was Associate Director of the La Crosse Convention and Visitors Bureau. She was bestowed the La Crosse Up and Comer Professional of the Year Award in 1980.

She then accepted a position with the FMC Corporation in Green Bay. Her responsibilities included tradeshow co-ordination in the United States, Canada and Italy.

She was married to Robert Fisher in 1989 in Reno, Nev. They settled in Stevens Point and enjoyed 31 years of marriage.

She battled diabetes for 52 years; including two organ transplants.

Her favorite pastimes included gardening, reading, photography and hosting family and friend dinner parties. She also enjoyed traveling to Cancun, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, and Paris, France.

Survivors include her husband, Bob; brother, John (Christine) Low; sisters, Christine (William) McKee and Laurie Low; and nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
