Explore the “Endless Horizon” at the UW-Stevens Point planetarium.

“Endless Horizon,” narrated by Patrick Stewart of “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” will be offered at 2 PM on Sunday, Nov. 5, 12 and 19. The program is open to the public and free of charge.

Viewers will learn how Galileo, the early explorers and the Wright brothers influenced modern space exploration in a free show in the Allen F. Blocher Planetarium at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The show will explore the relationship between scientific discovery and advances in science theory, technology and our concept of the universe. From the 1500s to today, discover how devices were created that influenced the course of history and unlocked the secrets of the solar system.

Planetarium seating is first come, first serve for up to 55 people. Groups of 15 or more may schedule a special showing of any planetarium program by calling 715-346-2208 or completing an online request form atwww.uwsp.edu/physastr/plan_obs. There is a cost of $25 per group for these presentations.

On Monday evenings, the “Night Sky” program is offered at 8 PM in the planetarium to look in detail at objects in the current night sky. The Arthur J. Pejsa Observatory telescope is open for free viewings from 8:30 PM to 10 PM, Monday through Wednesday, if the skies are clear and the temperature is above 10 degrees Fahrenheit.
