Amherst blows out Stratford to advance to State Semifinals

The top-ranked and back-to-back defending State Champion Amherst High School football team (11-1) dominated Stratford in a WIAA Division 5 Level 3 Playoff Game at Amherst Friday, Nov. 3, to advance to the WIAA Division 5 State Semifinals for the sixth year in a row.
The second-seeded Falcons jumped out to a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter on fifth-seeded Stratford (8-3) and rolled to a 52-15 win, as senior quarterback Marcus Glodowski rushed for five touchdowns in the victory.
Amherst will play Grantsburg (12-0) in a WIAA Division 5 State Semifinal at Stanley-Boyd at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, after top-seeded Grantsburg won 40-7 over second-seeded Elk Mound (9-3) in Level 3.
