Seniors Johnny Hyland, Liam Belson and Mason Meixner ran for the SPASH boys team, while their younger sisters, sophomore Maddie Hyland, junior Grace Belson and sophomore Kamryn Meixner were part of the SPASH girls team, as they accounted for six of the 14 SPASH runners that competed at state.

“It’s been fun,” said Mason Meixner. “We grew up together, and we’re all really close.

“We all started in SPARC (Stevens Point Area Running Club), and just have always been working together,” he said.

Brother and sister duos Mason and Kamryn Meixner, Johnny and Maddie Hyland, and Liam and Grace Belson were members of the Stevens Point Area Senior High School (SPASH) cross country teams that competed at the WIAA Division 1 State Meet at The Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids, Saturday, Oct. 28.
