Dorothy L. Bertram
Dorothy Loretta Bertram, 90, Plover, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017.
Born April 1, 1927, in Milladore, she was a daughter of the late Nick and Christina Smazal. She was married to Donald Bertram Jan. 28, 1947. They farmed in Milladore until his death, Dec. 23, 1960.
She is survived by one brother, Harvey; one sister, Darlene; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; two brothers, Lawrence and Robert; and two sisters, Ruth and Bertha.
She loved animals and the outdoors. She was known to start a conversation with “Guess what job I did with a pick and shovel?” Or “Why do they call me a big fool?”
The family would like to thank the Aging and Disability Resource Center staff, Inclusia team and nurses and staff at Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital and Hospice.
Visitation was Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point. Services also were Thursday with Rev. Carl Winkleman officiating.
