Holiday Parade Comes to Downtown Friday

City Times Staff
Stevens Point’s annual kickoff to the holiday season hits Main St. this Friday.
The Holiday Parade, hosted by the Stevens Point Association of Downtown Businesses — not the city — is set for 6 PM on Friday, Nov. 17. This year’s theme is “March of the Toys”.
The parade route runs along Main St. from the entrance to downtown near the United States Post Office to the Mathias Mitchell Public Square where the city’s Christmas tree will see its ceremonial first lighting the same evening.
Registration for the parade is $75 for regular admissions or $25 for non-profits and ADB members. Entries can be submitted until Wednesday, Nov. 15. According to the registration website, 30 percent of the parade’s proceeds will be donated to Christmas is for Children, a benefit for local children run by Muzzy Broadcasting.
The ADB estimates over 4,000 spectators could attend the parade.
Interested groups can register on the parade’s Crowdspire page.
